Biography

Michael studied jazz piano with Franco D'Andrea, Barry Harris, Harold Danko, Kenny Barron.
He has played with Larry Nocella, Massimo Urbani, Flavio Boltro, Avishai Cohen, Bruno de Filippi, Gianni Basso, Enzo Scoppa, Florian Brambock, Carlo Atti, Robert Bonisolo, Francesco Bearzatti, Stefano Senni, Zeno de Rossi, Achille Succi, Gianluigi Trovesi.

He accompanied live viewings of silent films at the St. Anton festival in Tirol, Trento and Lugano. He has also collaborated on music and literature projects and recorded the "Poetischer Lorm" CD with Benno Simma, the soundtracks for "Anita" (directed by Evi Oberkofler & Edith Eisenstecken) and "Das Schnalstal" (Karl Prossliner).

In 2001 he founded, along with Helga Plankensteiner, the "unit eleven jazz orchestra" for which he wrote the music. This band has participated in various festivals such as Jazz & Other (Bolzano), Torbole, Mori, Villalagarina, Cles, Val Badia, Bergamo.

His music is played by the big band intica, the Nordtiroler jazzorchester, sax for fun, girltalk, conductus ensemble, sonata island, orchestra ottovolante.

Over the years he has written many tracks such as "Sweet Alps" "VOYAGE", "Smile" and "Connections".

His album "Fine Herbs" was recorded with the Michael Losch Quartet for J-Digital.
