Biography

Some of the best solo stars started off their career as backing singers and session vocalists. It happened to Madonna and now it's happening to the UK-born dance virtuoso, SANDY.

She's been singing since the age of five and turned professional in the Nineties when she did sessions as the lead vocalist on dance projects that charted throughout the world and sold millions of copies.

She sang backing vocals for Italian stars of the calibre of GIORGIA, JOVANOTTI, CLAUDIO BAGLIONI, ZUCCHERO and LAURA PAUSINI. She showed the subtler side of her vocal range in the duet "Vivo per lei" with ANDREA BOCELLI. She also toured with MARIAH CAREY.

She lives between England and Italy and is now about to get the international recognition she deserves for her outstanding performance on "Illusion" by Benassi Bros. feat. SANDY (top 3 in the European Dance Chart). The track was included in the Benassi Bros album "PUMPHONIA". "Illusion" was released in most territories and achieved excellent results in club charts all around the world. In France it was a smash hit, staying at the #1 spot of the club chart for over a month and entering the top 10 of the sales charts.
The follow-up "Feel Alive" (taken from "...PHOBIA lp) lingered in the Billboard Airplay Dance Chart for 19 weeks.

In 2008 Sandy collaborated on two dance projects: the first was together with Dhany (Sandy vs Dhany: "Break the wal"l) and the second one was a featuring on Favretto's track "Get Out Of My Mind", remixed by the top Italian producer Samuele Sartini.

In May 2009 her single "This is Me" - produced by Alle Benassi (studio partner of Benny Benassi) - came out, while in July she collaborated with Pocho (producer of "2 Times" by Ann Lee and "Tu es foutu" by In-Grid) on the track "Brighter".

In May 2010 Sandy added her personal touch and her powerful voice to "Born to be free", La Maison Derriere's first single; in the same year went out her 4th solo single "Cloud n. 9", produced by Favretto.
